What is an Electric Adjustable Bed?

Will my existing headboard and footboard work with my new Adjustable Bed?
Yes - Provided that the bed is the same size. Headboard brackets are reversible and will adjust to fit any standard headboard borings. Brackets for foot boards are available for some models, please inquire prior to ordering to see if footboard brackets are available for your bed. (Foot board brackets are not available for Wallhugger or Headboard Hugger models.)
Do I need special wiring in my home to use an Adjustable Bed?
No - These beds use standard, grounded, household outlets and are U.L. listed. However, as with most major appliances and computers, using a surge suppressor is highly recommended to protect the bed's electronic circuits.
What, exactly, does an Adjustable Bed do?
By adjusting your center of gravity and relieving pressure, Adjustable Beds allow you to find a position that soothes your body, thus permitting you to fall asleep faster, and stay asleep longer. Different models of beds have different features, but they commonly feature the ability to elevate your head and/or feet, and some even have a built-in massage feature to soothe and relax your entire body.
Will Medicare, Medicaid, or my health insurance pay for an Adjustable Bed?
Maybe - Check with your Doctor and Insurance company or claims officer. Many doctors prescribe adjustable beds for patients with hiatal hernias, poor circulation, or other health conditions. We do not file Medicare, Medicaid, or Insurance claims for you, but your claims officer, insurance company, or agent can assist you with this.
What is a Dual Queen or Split Queen size bed?
A Dual Queen adjustable bed is comprised of two 30"x80" bed bases pushed together to make a regular queen size. A Dual Queen is also commonly known as a Split Queen, because each side has individual controls. This allows you and your partner to sleep in different positions to maximize your individual comfort and relaxation preferences.
What is a Dual King or Split King size bed?
A Dual King adjustable bed is comprised of two Twin XL bed bases (39"x80") pushed together to make a regular King size. As with your king size mattress at home, the bases are split into two pieces so they can fit through the door. A Dual King is also commonly known as a Split King, because each side has individual controls. This allows you and your partner to sleep in different positions to maximize your individual comfort and relaxation preferences.
What is a Wallhugger® or Headboard Hugger®?
A Wall-Hugger bed keeps you close to your nightstand as you adjust your position. With a Wall Hugger® bed, you'll be able to retrieve items off your nightstand with ease. This type of bed is also commonly known as a Headboard-Hugger®.
I have a King Size bed now - Will a Dual King fit in my room?
Absolutely. A Dual King is made of two Twin XL Bases pushed together to create a regularly sized King Bed.
How do I know if my mattress is Adjustable-Friendly?
In most cases, if your mattress contains a Border Wire, it is NOT adjustable friendly. You can usually feel the solid border wire running along the edges of your mattress. All Latex and Memory Foam mattresses are Adjustable Friendly. If you are not sure, contact the manufacturer of your mattress for more information. All of the mattresses we offer on Adjustable Bed Center will work with Adjustable Beds.
My partner says I snore - Will an Adjustable Bed help?
Based on the feedback we've heard from others, it very well may. We have been told that adjusting the head portion of the bed made by the wife can has abated the disturbance.
